The Pacific Bomb Cyclone: A Storm to Remember 🌬️

November 2024 brought Tofino one of the wildest storms in recent memory. The Pacific Bomb Cyclone arrived with fierce winds over 120 km/h, torrential rain, and towering ocean swells that left the town in a surreal mix of chaos and wonder.

Power outages left many of us bundling up for warmth, and kindhearted hospital staff lent us blankets to weather the night in our car. By morning, the storm’s raw beauty was on full display—towering waves crashing against Incinerator Rock and brave surfers taking on nature’s fury.

Amid the storm’s destruction, Tofino’s community spirit shone brighter than ever. Cafés with backup power offered warmth, and neighbours came together, proving the strength of connection during tough times.

This unforgettable experience inspired us to create a decorative surfboard, capturing that stormy night's raw energy, beauty, and resilience. It’s a tribute to nature’s power and the strength of the Tofino community
